Super Neptunia RPG Game Review

There are so many games in the Hyperdimension Neptunia series. Many genre areas have been dealt with, from Musou-style action brawlers to idol simulations. Super Neptunia RPG allows Neptune and Gang to occupy a new space or a new dimension. The core Hyperdimension Neptunia title is a combo-oriented 3D JRPG, but the Super Neptunia RPG is a hybrid 2D platform / JRPG that feels like the intersection of the Valkyrie Profile and the kitschy mobile game 10 years ago.

Super Neptunia RPG Game Review

If you are new to Nep Nep, here is the pitch. In this series of worlds, Gamindustri is a fueled by video game jokes. Each region of the world is based on a console production company in real life, the heroine is all horrible, and the goddess dominates the people without intense hesitation. Neptunia, the representative of the SEGA platform, is typically the main character and a stupid type who wants to have a good time.

Other women have disadvantages of their one-dimensional nature, and the way they hit each other is usually a good time. Generally, the gods hate each other, but common enemies (pirates) must tie them together for the benefit of Gamindustri. In the Super Neptunia RPG, Neptunia woke up in a strange world and could not remember anything other than her name.

The strangest part about it is that everything, including Neptunia itself, is 2D. Neptunia is wrapped in a strange organization that actively propagates the benefits of 2D video games while exploring this new world with new rules and physics. Neptunia embarked on an adventure, finding out anything, and getting a lot of quests from NPCs. Pleasantness continues with the typical Neptunia method.

Gameplay

When the Super Neptunia RPG controls the player for the first time, the problem begins. Traveling around the world of this game is immediately felt in an un-putt manner. Neptunia moves in a kind of awkward and rich way and never feels a strong presence in the world. It's difficult to say whether you can move up or down on some screens because the background can be so busy.

Once you find your way, you end up in areas where monsters and platforms are the main focus. Jump is as awkward and inflated as walking around, and it makes all platforms especially boring when deciding on hard ground. In combat, the Super Neptunia RPG takes a form similar to the Valkyrie Profile.

Each character has a button, which is how the player attacks when the button is pressed in various situations. This can lead to staggering combo and other strategies. But instead of a turn based system, the Super Neptunia RPG is going to adopt the AP system of 3D games. In other words, there is a limit to how and when to attack.

This game is provided in the form of a bar that slowly fills up, and if enough meters are stored, it can trigger an attack. This already creates a battle on the slow side. In each battle, it is still as slow as you and your enemies are slowly slowing down because you can not do anything for a few seconds. You want to use a basic attack.

Strong maneuverability means that the AP meter needs to sit there to absorb damage for longer while crawling to where it is needed. There is a fast-forward option for high-speed grinding, but the Super Neptunia RPG is hard to get on the screen too much.

About Super Neptunia RPG game

Fortunately, the Super Neptunia RPG is not difficult, so sticking with the basic strategy is often a challenge. If you are more interested in Neptunia's stupid pranks than in combat systems, you can go from gag to gag and have a good time. However, I am always interested in the combat systems of Idea Factory, and Compile Heart games. It's filled with interesting and original ideas.

This time, Artisan Studios, a Canadian developer, combined with wild extraterrestrial mechanics to get more experience. Super Neptunia RPG feels that a good idea is wrong. On paper, you can comprehend all your favorite Hyperdimension Neptunia characters and make them more traditional JRPG style.

This is especially true because the classic JRPG style is a rich mine for comedy. But Artisan Studios instead created a cheap and unsightly game with a bizarre focus on platform work that hid more than the platform was added. By moving Neptunia on a common platform, you can collect glittering orbs and swipe from monsters.

This platform does not work because of the awkward animation style that plagues small 2D games. A simple 2D grid that does not move would have been okay. Maybe it will be more appropriate for this series because there is a lot of unused Dragon Quest gags floating around.

Everything about the way the Super Neptunia RPG moves and feels is real, while visuals are well represented and gamer humor is a trademark of the series.
