Kotodama The 7 Mysteries of Fujisawa Review for PS4

Fan service enthusiasts are likely to have experienced one of the PQube releases before. They localized and published many titles, including Gal, Gun 2, Punch Line, and Song of Memories. Kotodama The 7 Mysteries of Fujisawa are the first attempts to explore game development, and you'll feel great about how they were made. It is an absolutely colorful visual novel game featuring a very funny mini-game and an attractive storyline.

Story of Kotodama The 7 Mysteries of Fujisawa

The story begins on the first day at the Fujisawa Academy. You are a transfer student with a somewhat unusual friend. You made a treaty with a devil like a cute and cute fox called Mon-Chan. This gives you the power to see the truth after lying. One of the first characters to appear is Nanami, a member of the school's Occult Research Club. It does not take long to fall into a story full of amazing twists and turns due to its amazing charm.

Kotodama The 7 Mysteries of Fujisawa

The school can be a perfect breeding ground for ridiculous and funny rumors, and the Fujisawa Academy definitely has a unique urban legend. Some of them include a secret knowledge library and mysterious ghost characters who wander the hall at night. Of course, this kind of story can have elements of truth, and it is the truth you are looking for.

Snare into a Twist

Sometimes they will meet someone who knows more than you do, and you will have to participate in the battle of questioning. In essence, match-3-style mini-games match colored orbs and try to fill the happy gauges of the target. Each time you select a sphere, it moves to the top of the grid and moves all the sphere above it down one space. The more matching orbs you have, the more you can remove the lie, reveal the truth, and take the other person to the underwear.

I think it is a way to reveal the truth! If you like fan service, Kotodama is definitely a snow festival. The character artwork of the bright design which attracts attention to each of the hero is wonderful. You can also loose a range of various genuine underwear for each person you fight; They are all pleasantly sexy.

Mini-games are not particularly difficult, but the movement to end the opponent is limited. There are a few shame because there is no score system or leaderboard that not only greatly improves the reproducibility of this mini-game, but also allows you to see how quickly you can peel off people compared to your friends.

City legend

During the investigation, the game plays like a normal visual novel. You choose where to visit and occasionally choose a conversation. Many of the other characters you meet initially look like people of normal character, but when you know more, you realize that there are more than you can see. The first riddle to solve seems fairly innocent. If you manage your pets, it is estimated that a big white wolf can bring good luck.

But when you start to realize that the school is amazingly dark, you do not need much research. I will not explain in detail the various mysteries you will reveal because I do not want to ruin anything, but I am sure that the story is very interesting and there are a fair number of times you can think that you know. There is a fairly surprising distortion in the story.

Gameplay of Kotodama

There are several endings to unlocking, and to fully resolve all the mysteries of the academy, you need to pay close attention to what is happening around you. You may miss the first few things you play through the game, but fortunately you can fast-forward text you've already read. Mini-games can not be skipped, so a small number of iterations can start.

Another negative thing I should mention is that there is a bug that can occur when trying to unlock one of the endings at the time of writing this article. Instead of going to the next scene, the interrogation battle repeats infinitely. Sometimes there is a moment when the characters speak, but the text box that pops up is just empty.

Unfortunately, since the voice acting is all in Japanese, you can not actually tell what they are saying. Thankfully, empty text boxes occur only occasionally and do not miss something that is so important. Hopefully these little laughs will be patched pretty soon.

Considering that this is the first venture for PQube's game development, the seven mysteries of Kotodama: Fujisawa are still impressive. It is a visual novel that is a fun mini game with beautiful art works. It's a very easy game to recommend to fans of visual novels and enjoy some fan service.
